Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a method of obtaining hair directly from the donor area, without the need for a linear incision. In this hair restoration procedure, fine instruments are used to make a small incision in the skin around the upper part of the follicular unit, which is then extracted directly from the scalp.
Follicular Unit Extraction(FUE) is considered a different procedure from Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT). In FUE, the follicular units are extracted directly from the scalp, rather than being microscopically dissected from a strip that has already been removed from the scalp as in FUT. In other words, the main difference between FUT and FUE is that in FUT, the follicular grafts are obtained by strip harvesting and dissection compared with direct extraction of each individual follicular unit in FUE.
-No linear scar: thus important especially for those who cut their hair short
Natural hair transplantation is the only sure permanent way to treat many cases (but not all) of baldness and hair loss. FUE can be performed for: -Male baldness/hair loss -Female baldness/hair loss -Male and females who wish to adjust their hairline -Cases suffering of skin diseases or previous accidents that led to permanent loss of hair -Correction of previous hair transplantation that led to scarring or disfigurement
